Page #I : Collision model

After a few days of trying to get collision models to render functionally in Episode 2, I circumvented this by compiling it for Half-Life 2 and then porting over the content, which I would have done all along if it would have worked THEN. But at least I got it into the game with collision models, so now I can continue making models.

Today I’m going to start writing on my new project. It’s not going to be easy, but I’ve decided to do this mainly on my own until at least a good half of it all is done, that way I can still be in full control for the majority of the concept phase.

Once I get more work done you will start seeing more and more of it on here.

Page I : First model in-game

That’s actually a lie, this is the 2nd model I’ve successfully compiled into the SOURCE engine, however the first one was simply a mere test, this one also but slightly more serious.

3Dmax render, UV, Texture & Done.

The model didn’t take long to make, simply UVW unwrapping it took a while, making the texture was no biggy either as can be clearly seen.

Model in-engine.

The model is to be used as a “Problem Light”, it’s green when there isn’t a problem, and red when there is and is to be located directly above the source of the problem such as a machine, so it can be easily identified and corrected before further severity.

Page II : Current projects update

-. Project #1 : Untitled short game (Lead)
-. Project #2 : Garry’s Mod 10 lua modification (Level-Design/Script/3D)
-. Project #3 : Real-Life job (Level-Design/Writer)
-. Project #4 : Untitled short animation (Writer)
-. Project #5 : The Forgotten (Level-Designer)

Starting first to last;

The Forgotten is a Half-Life² modification previously lead by someone, then lead by Mathias, then me, then Mathias again. It’s a “Z-Shooter”, or at least that is what the first goal was. Joined as a Level-Designer but somehow ended up being the bitch of the team and got invested in the writing and game-play area.

To cut it short, I want to be part of the writing staff, but with the current material if I find my stomach turning inside out and rather only work on Level-Design and not receive any credit for the current story as I see that could later on in life come up and bite me in the ass and give me bad credit.

Lately I’ve really badly wanted to work and write on an animated short and it seems to be happening, slowly but happening.

Yep, real-life stuff blows chunks like the girl in the exorcist amirite? The job in Shanghai is on hold, I’m not likely to move that far for a job but I’ll keep looking but not actively. I want to work in modifications for the meanwhile.

The Garry’s mod 10 lua modification, I was dragged into it by a friend of mine Vira and compared to other projects this one has good prospects. It’s based around the role-playing crowd currently in Gmod10, I myself not a big fan of it simply because it lacks depth and people whom code it expect your imagination will take care of the rest of it. But face it, we’re already in a virtual world I thought this is what imagination gave us, so let’s build on it.

Anyway, that about covers it.
